The JTC 1 Special Group on Strategic Planning believes that JTC 1 should consider developing new funding methods, in particular with respect to the new participation mode. Therefore, JTC 1 National Bodies and SCs are invited to submit proposals on this issue. Any new funding contribution must take into account that the Secretariats will continue to be held by National Bodies.

Examples of analysis of expenses on Secretariat work with focus on IT utilization are available in JTC 1 N6177 (Japan) and N6180 (Canada) for reference.
