[88-M5] Motion: The UTC accepts an additional 255 variation selector characters, fifteen to be encoded at  FE01..FE0F with the names VARIATION SELECTOR 2..VARIATION SELECTOR 16, and 240 to be encoded at E0110..E01FF with the names VARIATION SELECTOR 17..VARIATION SELECTOR 256. The variation selector characters with have a general category type of Mc, including VARIATION SELECTOR 1 (at U+FE00), and the Mongolian free variation selectors (at 180B..180E). [L2/01-268, 309]

[88-M11] Motion: The UTC approves changing the East Asian Width and Math properties of 12 characters (2329, 232A, 3008, 3009, 300A, 300B, 3014, 3015, 3018, 3019, 301A, 301B) as described in L2/01-317R. [88-M12] Motion: The UTC approves changing the annotations of U+2329 and U+232A to reference U+27E8 and U+27E9 as the correct characters to use.  It also approves adding an annotation to U+2329 and U+232A to discourage their use. [ L2/01-317R]
IETF - IDN Name Preparation
[88-C5] Consensus: The UTC would like to see a paragraph added to the IDN Internet Draft, Preparation of Internationalized Host Names, regarding name preparation, which would clarify that alternate names may need to be registered to handle variant spellings for different languages and simplified and traditional forms. [L2/01-318]

[88-C6] Consensus: The UTC does not guarantee that casing preserves normalization form, but in the future such a requirement may be considered. [L2/01-321, 327]
[88-M13] Motion: Add the deprecated property to the Unicode Character Database, Proplist.txt, with eight characters (0340, 0341, 206A..206F) having that property. [ L2/01-275, 301, 326]
[88-M15] Motion: Add two informative properties, other grapheme extend (1160..11A2, 11A8..11F9, FF9E..FF9F) and grapheme link (094D, 09CD, 0A4D, 0ACD, 0B4D, 0BCD, 0C4D, 0CCD, 0D4D, 0DCA, 0E3A, 1039, 17D2). Incorporate the text of L2/01-322R, as modified during discussion, into UTR#18 Unicode Regular Expression Guidelines, and with other appropriate text changes in the next version of the standard.  The disposition of ZWJ and ZWNJ as regards these new properties is remanded to the Editorial Committee. [88-C7] Consensus: The Editorial Committee should use the modified text of L2/01-324 as the basis for the description of the behavior and properties of variation selectors.
[88-M16] Motion: Add FE00..FE0F to the list of characters with the default ignorable code point property. [88-C8] Consensus: The UTC understands the proposal in L2/01-262 to reserve D7C0..D7FF for internal use, but does not intend to take any action on it at this time.

[88-M17] Motion: Accept the proposal documented in L2/01-328R2, amended during discussion, as Proposed Draft Unicode Technical Report#26 Compatibility Encoding Scheme for UTF-16 - 8-bit.

[88-M18] Motion: The UTC is working towards eliminating irregular sequences from UTF-8 in Unicode 3.2. [L2/01-276]
