L2/05-072 February 9th 2005 Since UTC is about to decide to go forward with TUS4.1, and as things are that will establish a case mapping: lowercase: 0294 LATIN LETTER GLOTTAL STOP uppercase: 0241 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER GLOTTAL STOP If we add another new character later, LATIN SMALL LETTER GLOTTAL STOP, then that will require changing already-published case mappings. Thus, at this last minute, IÕm thinking that we should ask for the *case mappings* in 4.1 between 0294 and 0241 not to be added. If we add a new lowercase character later, then the appropriate case mapping can be established; if we decide not to add a new char but use only these two chars, then we would establish the case mapping between the existing characters later. The main point is: the glottal stops arenÕt completely resolved, and IÕm just wondering what would cause the least pain wrt case mappings. The General Category value for 0241 would go from 'Lu' to 'Lo' Thanks. Peter Constable GIFT | GPTS | MICROSOFT
