The INCITS Secretariat has received the 2005 List of International Standards published five or ten years ago, or more, for systematic review. The U.S. TAG is required to recommend a vote for the National Body.

In accordance with clause 15.3 of the Procedures for the Technical Work of ISO/IEC JTC 1 on Information Technology (JTC 1 N 7364), International Standards coming up to five years of age since publication shall be reviewed by the committee responsible for their development and maintenance. The review aims at deciding whether these International Standards should be confirmed, revised, declared as stablized or withdrawn. The decision regarding confirmation, revision, declared as stablized, or withdrawal should be based on the degree to which the International Standards have been implemented at the national level and applied in practice.

The U.S. vote will be forwarded to ANSI for submission to ISO/IEC JTC 1. For some standards, the Subcommittee (SC) recommendation is provided. If the committee concurs with the SC recommendation, it should state this and provide the technical committee vote.
