The organizational meeting of INCITS Technical Committee CGIT1 - Corporate Governance of IT*, will be held September 14, 2009 at:

The meeting will be called to order at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2009, by the INCITS Executive Board appointed interim Convener, Dr. Donald Deutsch of Oracle.

The meeting schedule is as follows:
Monday, September 14, 2009 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Eastern)
Teleconference access will be provided for participants who cannot attend in person.
The dress code for this meeting is business casual.
Membership on INCITS/CGIT1 is open to all directly and materially affected interests. The committee will operate under the ANSI-accredited procedures of the InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards (INCITS). All organizations that attend the first meeting and request voting membership will attain voting rights immediately.

Please send requests for membership, RSVPs for the organizational meeting and any contributions to Jennifer Garner (jgarner@itic.org) not later than August 27, 2009 for posting to the two-week draft agenda.
* Scope for INCITS/CGIT1 - Corporate Governance of IT, as Approved by the INCITS Executive Board
At the July 7-9, 2009 INCITS Executive Board meeting, the EB reviewed the proposal for a new TC, INCITS/CGIT1, as detailed in document eb-2009-00846 and addressed the following motion:

The INCITS Executive Board approves the establishment of a new INCITS Technical Committee on Corporate Governance of IT, INCITS/CGIT1, and designates INCITS/CGIT1 as the US TAG to ISO/IEC JTC 1/WG 6 Corporate Governance of IT. The INCITS/CGIT1 area of work will address standardization in the areas assigned to JTC 1/WG 6 which currently include:
· ISO/IEC 38500:2008 - Corporate governance of information technology
· development of guidelines associated with ISO/IEC 38500
JTC 1/WG 6 passed resolutions at the May 2009 formation meeting recommending the transfer of the following JTC 1/SC 7 projects to WG 6:
· ISO/IEC NP 29151 – Software and System Engineering –- Corporate Governance of Information Technology
· ISO/IEC NP 29184 – Information Technology –- Corporate Governance of IT Implementation Guide
The first meeting of INCITS/CGIT1, Corporate Governance of IT, will be announced in ANSI Standards Action, as will a call for participants. Dr. Deutsch has agreed to serve as Convener for the first meeting of INCITS/CGIT1. A call for volunteers to serve as Chairman for the new TC will be issued at the formation meeting and a call to identify an International Representative will be issued after the ballot for Chairman has been initiated.
The formation meeting of INCITS/CGIT1, Corporate Governance of IT, has been tentatively scheduled as follows (teleconference access will be available):
