I would like down to earth explanation please.
In Indic (especially Tamil) what is the default status of dotted circle within a multilingual font?
I for reasons, expect the default to be non enabled and if for some reasons it is required the dotted circle should be made active for that specified requirements.
A multilingual font should always contain this glyph as it may or may not be used according to requirements. This then leads to the assumption that applications are the only ones that are required to activate or leave at disabled default for any situations.
Of course a font can, for some known requirenments make glyph substitutions to additionaly avoid dotted circles, if not desirable in that instance. But the main responsibility of apps developers is to leave the dotted circle, disabled as default.
Please comment.
