The article starts off with some weird statements:

WTF? See Wikipedia:

It's hardly "Computers occasionally hang on one line of code and fail to move on to the next". Jeez, they ought to have writers to know what they're talking about. The first comment to the article on Wired also points out that it's bogus.
I wouldn't use
this article as any basis for justifying any proposed new math characters. Wait for a real publication.
