I am wondering if I know a particular character, such as an "é" or "«", what is the best way of identifying it within the unicode charts.

I have a quirky issue with French whereby my application is failing on the e accented above...sometimes. I am trying to figure out if there are perhaps similar "e"s that look identical on the page but are actually coded differently in Unicode.

Any suggestions? Thank you!!!

an easy way is to copy the character, paste it into wordpad (on windows), select just that character and hit alt+x. This will toggle between a character and its code point. If you're looking for something more universal, you'll have to wait for someone else to answer, as that's all I use.
