I find the posts hard to read because the font is too small, much smaller than elsewhere. My browser can enlarge this, but it's the only place I have this problem; I don't want to have to do it each time I visit here; it would be nice it there were a preference to change the default font size

I don't experience that as a problem. When I visit some other forums, many have the same font size. The difference might be the type of font. This forum uses a font that has a slightly wider distance between lines, but when I compare screenshots with other places, the x-height is the same.

I have my system set to the smallest size for UI fonts (menus), and text size in the browsers to medium. What are your settings?

I'm sure we'll be looking at layout tweaks as we move forward, so we'll keep your input in mind for when we do that.

Just FYI. I looked into the main stylesheet that controls many of the high-level aspects of the forum "theme". The default font size was set to 62.5% which (it claimed) was 10 pixels. I bumped that up a little, to 68%, which might make it more readable, but not too large. Note also that IE seems to print things smaller than other browsers even given the same config and all. It was OK for me with Seamonkey/Firefox, but if you're using IE, the default would definitely be smaller anyway.
