Biography

David Kumhyr - Tivoli Systems, Inc.

David Kumhyr works for Tivoli Systems, an IBM company in Austin Texas. He is the manager of the Globalization Tools, Architecture and Enabling department and manager of the Asia Pacific Resource department. In 1999 he was named IBM Software Group/Tivoli Master Inventor for patents and inventions relating to language, internationalization and user interface design.

Originally from Winnipeg Canada, he was raised in Raleigh North Carolina and now resides on his ranch South of Austin Texas with his wife. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University, and the North Carolina Justice Academy. He has previously presented to the Unicode conference on international calendars and internationalization development models.

Mr. Kumhyr formerly worked as a police officer and was Chief of Police in Holly Springs North Carolina. He also flew as a mission pilot for air search and rescue for the Civil Air Patrol.
