Biography

Toby Phipps - PeopleSoft, Inc.

Toby Phipps is PeopleSoft's Product Manager for Global Technology, based in Pleasanton, California. Responsible for the company's international tools and technology, Toby has lead design and development teams in the implementation of multilingual and other international features in PeopleSoft's core application and technology products, including support for double byte character sets, the Euro, translation management systems and more recently, a full Unicode conversion of PeopleTools, the company's flagship technology. The upcoming release of PeopleSoft 8 will be the first world-class ERP system to be fully Unicode enabled. Toby also played a leading part in the effort to re-focus the organization's development and release methodologies to enable simultaneous release of PeopleSoft's entire application suite, consisting of well over 20 individual application products, in English and 8 additional languages.

Joining PeopleSoft in 1993, Toby co-founded PeopleSoft's Asia Pacific operations based in Sydney, Australia and was responsible for the technical operations of the company's Asia Pacific subsidiaries, including development and support of PeopleSoft's local Asia Pacific Human Resource and Payroll products for Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Prior to PeopleSoft, Toby worked at Oracle Corporation both in Australia and California, in sales support and international application development roles. Toby holds a MSc in Computer Science from the University of Technology, Sydney.
