The surrogate range is what supports over 1,000,000 characters in Unicode, and now that there are officially surrogates defined, people need to be thinking about these characters and how they will be supported. Under Windows, there is some support (in Windows 2000 and Whistler, as well as in the upcoming Visual Studio.NET) and this support will be discussed, as well as how to best use it in your applications and components. |
