[This is an updated version of the Collation paper presented in UIC #19, with substantially new material].

This paper describes the internal workings of an implementation of the Unicode Collation Algorithm. In so doing, it discusses data structures and techniques that are useful for a wide variety of different programming tasks in dealing with Unicode.
