Reinhard Schäler - University of Limerick
Reinhard Schäler has been involved in the localisation industry since 1987. His experience includes working as a translator, tester, software engineer, team lead, project manager, professional trainer and researcher. He has given presentations and invited talks at a number of national and international conferences and published widely on localisation related issues. As the director of the Localisation Research Centre he has co-ordinated and managed a number of European Research projects in Language Engineering. His personal research interests are in Machine Translation (MT), localisation technology and process development, testing and cultural issues in eContent localisation. He was a founding member of the Software Localisation Interest Group (SLIG) and its chairperson from 1995 to 1998. Editor of Localisation Ireland, he is also a lecturer at the Computer Science and Information Systems Department at the University of Limerick and the Director of the Localisation Research Centre.
