Abstract

Developing Multilingual Web Applications Using JavaServer Pages(TM)

Norbert Lindenberg - Sun Microsystems, Inc.

Intended Audience: Software Engineers, Content Developers
Session Level: Intermediate, Advanced

The JavaServer Pages technology has established itself as a favorite tool in the development of web applications. It lets page developers design dynamic web pages without requiring programming knowledge, but provides access to underlying software components using an extensible tag mechanism. A new extension developed through the Java Community Process provides enhanced support for the development of multilingual applications: The JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library defines, among other functionality, a set of tags that enable localization and localized formatting. The presentation discusses how to use this technology in the development of multilingual web applications.
