Biography

Gerhard Tivig - Philips Medical Systems

Gerhard Tivig is a senior development engineer at Philips Medical Systems, Cardiology and Monitoring Systems (CMS) Division in Boeblingen/Germany. He is project leader for application software development for patient monitors. Gerhard Tivig is also responsible in CMS R&D for all NLS and localization related aspects.

Some major milestones from the last couple of years include the migration to Unicode of a compact patient monitor and the definition of the NLS process and related language verification tools (like NLSAssist). Recent efforts include the migration from an in-house developed, DOS based translation tool to a new, Unicode and Windows NT based translation tool to be used within for the localization of the new generation of patient monitors developed within the CMS division in Boeblingen/Germany.
