Gerhard Budin - University of Vienna

Intended Audience: Site Coordinators, Technical Writers, Web Administrators, Web Designers, Localizers, Translators, Teachers (e-learning)

Session Level: Intermediate

E-Learning Technologies have not yet been sufficiently enabled for cultural diversity management. Learning platforms are mostly monolingual, their localization is quite difficult. The paper argues for a new generation of E-Learning technologies with full globalization and subsequent localization enablement for multicultural learning groups to exploit the full potential of learning experiences in global work contexts. Experiences from an E-Learning project carried out in the EU-Programme Leonardo da Vinci II will be presented as a first step into this direction.
