PRC Minority Language Support in the Next Release of Windows

The next release of Windows (codename "Longhorn") will ship enabled for many new languages, including 4 minority languages in China - Tibetan, Mongolian, Uighur and Yi. This presentation will focus on the process we used to enable the support of these 4 languages on Windows.

This presentation will include the following technical areas: font development (including OpenType support), shaping engines, sorting, input methods and locale data. We will also discuss the challenges, pitfalls and lessons learned in implementing these important scripts.
