Sorry, the latter statement was nonsense, so this example is not apt for
supporting my claim (which nevertheless holds).

Here is a valid (hence better :-) example:
> noche (Spanish for "night")
> Nockenwelle (German for "camshaft")
> The German sorting rules demand that "noche" < "Nockenwelle" (as "h" < "k"),
> while the classic Spanish sorting rules demand that Nockenwelle < noche
> (as "c" < "ch").
