Not correct. We use UTF8 to represent Unicode 2.0 in Oracle 8. With the
support of Unicode 1.1 in the released products and the time when the
product
was released, it was chosen by then and a very valid one due to the hungal
imcompatibility issue. If you looked at the Oracle 8 documentation, that is
where you see the correction. However, in Oracle, it is used as character
set
name and identification.

In Oracle Interoffice and WebServer product, we do use internet registered
character set tag instead. Therefore, to some extend, UTF8 is used as
internal character set registration not an alias to external tag.
