A situation recently arose where an attempt was made to export Unicode
Hiragana text to a JISX0201 encoded file. Of course it did not work, but it
brought up a question:
Has anyone found it convenient to automatically map the Hiragana to Katakana
(Unicode, that is) before converting it to JISX0201? Pros? Cons?
