[Alain] I do not know, but we made a French version of ISO/IEC 10646-1 to
also give double hints to translate in other languages in case of 
doubt.


Currently the complete list of French names for the first edition of
ISO/IEC 10646-1 can be found at:

We also have the full list up to the latest amendments up to 1999, which
we keep among a small team as there are still 100 characters for which we
debate of the ultimate, accurate, French names... Some names are quite
ambiguous in English, but we have a lot of very good sources in French to
find the accurate names in this language. Sometimes we have too many
sources... sometimes we are puzzled... for 100 characters it is the case
(out of a number of characters in the 5 digits, I never recall how many
exactly).
