ISO 5426-2:1996 contains a small number of scribal contractions of
Latin, chiefly derived from a character set developed by the British
Library. They were proposed for addition to 10646 last year. WG2's
decision was that further study of them was needed.

The proposal (written by Michael Everson) is L2/98-214 = SC2/WG2
