No - Just create the text as follows:

Italics in an English magazine article could also make it possible to refer
to the French [Unicode Language for French codes] chat [Unicode Language
for English codes] without causing the reader to misinterpret it as the
English chat.

IOW: Show that the first "Chat" is French and let the actual Word Processor
convert it to Italic (based on a built in style setting) when it imports
the TEXT into WP format.
