The "*" *is* the comment. The ISO comment field in
the UnicodeData.txt file is used to drive the generation of the
ISO/IEC 10646 name lists. Some of the names have annotations
printed in 10646, and others have asterisks, which indicate
that the character has some extended explication listed in
Annex P. The Annex P text itself is simply carried in the body
of the standard -- that text is the responsibility of the editor
of the standard. However, the placement of the asterisk in the
printed names list depends on correct insertion of the asterisks
in the UnicodeData.txt file used to generate the input for the
formatting program.
