Oh how I sympathise!

I don't know what mailer you use, but I use Outlook Express, which is free.

I can select messages from any sender and not download from the server,
which I do, for precisely the reasons you quote.

Any chance that might help you?

There is, but I don't know of any code of conduct that would help you. I'll
