No one else has responded to the list yet about this.

According to the 3.0 book, under Character Properties,
4.9 Mathematical Property on page 101...

"...a number of these characters have multiple usages and
may occur with nonmathematical semantics."

Even as bullets or other graphic enhancers, presumably.

The section also mentions other characters (non-math)
which may be used in mathematic expressions.
