It strikes me as weird that none of the major news media have gone to the
pain of finding out how the buzzwords of the day (al-Qaida and Osama bin
Laden) are actually written in Arabic, properly transliterated or even
pronounced. I spent nearly an hour looking around, online, and found
absolutely nothing. Someone really ought to put out a short, multilingual,
Unicode-ized FAQ on the subject. I for one would be thrilled to be able to
refer to the concepts in their original form, as I've for some time tried
to do with e.g. Japanese ones.
