I asked Yuri Yarmola, the FL developer, about this during FL4 beta testing,
and he said it was not on his list of things to do for this release. It is
possible to assign 32-bit scalar values to glyphs in FontLab 4.0, but the
program does not write the correct cmap format for supplementary
characters, so my guess is that such glyphs will appear as unencoded.

I've cc'd this to Yuri, in case he has any additional comment. If lots of
people request support for supplementary character encoding, he will
probably be encouraged to add it.
