JIS to Unicode official mapping ?

I have learned that the Unicode Inc.'s mapping table from characters in
varoius JIS standards to Unicode is now obsolete, and there is now
a JIS standard mapping. Is it true? Is the mapping table part of
JIS X 0221-1 (JIS version of ISO 10646-1) ?
