    hi all,

i am working on running indic unicode in linux ( not in popular linux
    distrubtion).

    what i did is:

installed using localedef, installed our keymapping etc etc.

now when i open terminal from Gnome. i can see and type devnagari
    characters with no problem.

    NOw my problem is:

When i type in Gedit. i guess pango is not rendering. Rectangle boxes
    comes when i type.

So.. do i need X font server for this ?

Do i need True type font??

    I am using pango 1.2.1

What do i have to confiure in pango?.

Any links, how can i confiure unicode, indic devnagari, pango in typical
linux distro ( not in red hat, mandrake, slackware etc. these are very
    easy to play with).

    Thanks
