    This must be a trick question... surely _you_ know how to convert between
    decimal and hexadecimal. Did you just want to say you hate decimal? :-)

    It's equivalent to ம and means U+0BAE TAMIL LETTER MA.

    There are still some practical reasons for using decimal numbers in
    character references in HTML: hexadecimal references were not part of the
    original definition of HTML or even SGML, and some browsers recognize
    decimal references but not hexadecimal. This issue has become rather
    minuscule, though; it's mainly a Netscape 4 problem.
