Question regarding U+00AC NOT SIGN

    The character U+00AC NOT SIGN is contained on the Spanish standard
    keyboard (at least on the layout file supplied with the German edition
    of Microsoft Windows XP Professional) at the position AltGr+"6".

    Has it other use than for mathematical logic (especially in Spain)?

    Was there any specific reason to include it in ISO 8895-1 as one of
    three mathematical symbols besides U+00D7 MULTIPLICATION SIGN and
    U+00F7 DIVISION SIGN?
