    The striked V/v in the A7… block is an abbreviation character, the
    slash crossing only one side of the base letter and being correctly
    understood as an abbreviation mark.
    The striked V/v as part of the Latvian orthography is a diacritical
    letter in which the slash must cross the entire base glyph.
