    I was wrong... I checked on other pages and those are all two closely-
    set em dashes.

    I checked a first of "Sylvie and Bruno": same thing, and same in
    "Sylvie and Bruno Concluded". So Victorian Macmillan, at least, did
    not have single 2-em-dash sort.
