There are two errors in the CJK F charts in L2/15-339 (also WG2 N4705 and IRG N2130): 1. The source and glyph for KC-06578 are at U+2D1D1 (=JMJ-059415) instead of U+2E068 (=JMJ-059958). 2. The source and glyph for KC-07044 are at U+2D394 (=USAT-03073) instead of U+2DA7C (=GZJW-01933).

Opt Subject: PRI312: U+1F95B "GLASS OF MILK"
The representative glyph is not really distinctable with a generic glass of
liquid (it could as well be water) The name currently chosen is GLASS OF MILK,
but the note says it could be used as well to represent MILK only (without the
glass). As well there's a very wide variance in the kind of glass that could
be used. But I see really nothing that associates the glyph really with milk.
If the intent is really to represent milk, then the glyph is not
represetnative at all, and a more common represetnation would be based on this
object ("pot au lait" in French), such as these:

This object itself, generally metallic, whihc exists in various sizes, has a
consistent form and is used almost only for milk; it is still used for large
volumes.
For smaller volumes (about 1 liter) found now in western shops, it is now more
often a brick in carton, on which you could draw a cow head to disambiguate it
with various bricks used for many beverages and soups. Or in UK it is still a
bottle of glass.
For now, I cannot see any reasonnable distinction with a generic "FILLED
GLASS", nothing really indicates it is in fact "MILK" except the name.

In the Bengali block, the heading “SignS” should be “Signs”. The note for U+09FC BENGALI LETTER VEDIC ANUSVARA (“denotes a Vedic anusvara”) seems redundant and unnecessary. U+2BD2 GROUP MARK should have a cross-reference to the record mark, whatever that is determined to be; L2/15-083 suggests U+2021 DOUBLE DAGGER. The glyph for U+11A98 SOYOMBO GEMINATION MARK is wrong: the triangle should be directly above the dotted circle, not above and to the right. In the Ideographic Symbols and Punctuation block, the heading “Nushu mark” could be “Nüshu mark”. The note for U+1B1FE could also use “Nüshu”. The note for the Nushu block should explain the “-a” suffix in some readings. Alternatively, the suffixes could be removed, since now that the readings are not in the character names, they need no longer be unique.

Govt. of Tamil Nadu has submitted an expert committe proposal, and is available at http://www.unicode.org/L2/L2016/16007-tamil-frac.pdf These code charts should be used for Tamil symbols and fractions But there are errors and inconsistencies in Character naming, for example, in use of long vs. short vowels. Also, Unicode character annotations cannot contain any Tamil script, only simple English letters. So, we can convert the annotations into Latin/English script for encoding these archaic symbols in SMP. And, also the right vowel lengths of Tamil words. We can talk about these issues next week at UTC meeting. N. Ganesan

• 2BD2 GROUP MARK On page 8 and 9 (and figure 8) is also shown a "record mark". For this is the DOUBLE DAGGER named as used for printing. Both should be geometrical symbols or both typographical symbols. Note that sans serif daggers look like geometrical symbols. 29E7 ⧧ THERMODYNAMIC and proposed 2BD2 GROUP MARK or 2021 ‡ DOUBLE DAGGER and proposed TRIPLE DAGGER from proposal N4704 / L2/15-327 mediavalist punctuation. After a decicion add appropiate comments to the nameslist. • Forgotten references from proposal N3584 alchemical symbols. Add the unification comments "= …" and cross references from page 10 to 11 to the nameslist. • 2736 remove comment "= sextile". This is now 26B9 SEXTILE. • 2E46 INVERTED LOW KAVYKA WITH KAVYKA ABOVE Add a cross reference to the similar looking U+AB5B MODIFIER BREVE WITH INVERTED BREVE, and vice versa. • 1F1A0–1F1A4 add comments for the intended usage. (Not all users are technical up-to-date.) • 1F927 SNEEZING FACE As a German word "gesundheit" is spelled title case "Gesundheit". • 1F930 PREGNANT WOMAN Rename to PREGNANT. An increasing number of countries accept intersex as a third sex. Also, there are transgender people, that are legal men, but biological women, and can be pregnant. There exist children born by legal men. Beside this, it is prefered to declare characters as sexless, as much as possible. • 1F940 WILTED FLOWER Glyph looks like a lily of the valley. The Emoji glyph looks better, since it contains a fallen leaf. • 1F956 BAGUETTE BREAD Glyph shows a normal German bread. Use the original thiner glyph. • 1F985 DUCK This feetless glyph looks more like a rubber duck, than a living duck.
