Online Data
Implementing the Unicode Standard requires
information that is best provided as machine-readable tables.
The Unicode Consortium makes this information available through its
Official Unicode Online Data
and as Mirrored Data via FTP.
The files available via HTTP and via FTP are identical and use
consistent names following the initial http://www or
ftp://www. It may be more efficient to use the FTP protocol when
downloading a large number of files, while HTTP may be used to take
a quick look at a specific file.
The Unicode
Character Database (UCD) is considered part of the Unicode Standard.
The most up-to-date version of the files for the UCD is found at
http://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/ or at
ftp://www.unicode.org/Public/UNIDATA/. Older versions are
archived under their specific version and update numbers. See
also Versions of the Unicode
Standard.
Cross Mapping Tables: The Unicode Consortium provides mapping
tables that define the transcoding or conversion to existing
national and vendor standards.
Unicode
Resources: Other organizations and individuals have created many
resources and products that may be useful in implementing the Unicode
Standard or for generic software internationalization and localization.
Related Standards
Organizations: The Unicode Consortium cooperates with a number
of national and international standards organizations.
