This is the first call for WG2 meeting # 39 from 19 � 25 September 2000 in Athens, Greece.� The host organization is the Greek Standards national body (ELOT).� The logistics for hotels and meeting site will be posted to the SC2/WG2 website, as they become available.� Mr. Evangelos Melagrakis or his designee at ELOT is the contact point for logistics.� The meeting place is in Athens at the Hotel Divani Apollon Place.� The details for the logistics including hotel reservation form and meeting registration form are being posted to the SC2/WG2 web site in Denmark. �

WG2 will be meeting starting at 2:00 pm Tuesday, 19 September 2000 and conclude on Monday, 12:00 noon, 25 September 2000.� The WG2 meeting will be held in conjunction with two other meetings preceding and following it.� WG3 meeting will start on Monday, 18 September and conclude on Tuesday, 19 September, by noon.� SC2 plenary will start on Monday, 25 September, starting at 2:00 pm and conclude on 26 September.� The WG3 Convener and SC2 Secretariat will issue the call for WG3 and SC2 meetings.

This first call for WG2 meeting # 39 includes a preliminary agenda.� It will be broadcast by email and posted to the SC2/WG2 website at URL: www.dkuug.dk/JTC1/SC2/WG2.� The documents that were reviewed and distributed for meeting 38 in Beijing are all available on the website for your use.� I do not plan to send out a hard copy document, as in the past, except for experts who need them.� The same arrangement and process will be used for meeting 39 in Athens.� All contributions must be received by me, by 15 July 2000, for posting website in Denmark.� If you cannot send me an electronic copy of your contribution, please send me the paper copy and I will scan it and create a pdf file for posting.� It is preferable to have all contributions as pdf files but I can accept Word documents as well.

The objective of this meeting is to continue the WG2 program of work, with special focus on both 10646-1 future amendments and 10646-2, whose FCD ballot closes on 2000-09-19, just.
