L2/03-144 Subject: PropertyAlias Groupings From: Mark Davis Date: Fri, 2 May 2003 16:48:39 -0700 Please add this email to the doc registry and on the agenda. =============== 1. I just noticed that age ; Age blk ; Block are listed in C:\DATA\UCD\4.0.0-Update\PropertyAliases-4.0.0.txt as being "Non-enumerated Properties", which is really incorrect; they are both enumerations. This should be fixed in 4.0.1. (Note: these are only comments on the properties, and just informative.) 2. Also, in view of our development of the categorizations in the Character Property TR, we may want to make further changes for clarity. Property Aliases currently only has three groups: Non-enumerated Properties Enumerated Non-Binary Properties Binary Properties 2a. We may want to pull the following out into a Numeric Properties section: nv ; Numeric_Value 2b. Ken also suggests that we distinguish between Enumerated Non-Binary Properties like Bidi_Class and those like Script, Age, or Block: > where for any particular > version of Unicode there is an enumeration, but where there > is no logical connection to an algorithm, and where the enumeration > is an accumulation of items which, in principle, grows with > each new version. These are *catalog* properties, rather than > *logical enumeration* properties, and I think both the model > and PropertyAliases.txt ought to distinguish them.
