L2/05-379R Subject: Proposal to add the property Jamo_Short_Name property Source: Eric Muller, Adobe Systems Inc Date: December 5, 2005 Since Unicode 2.0.0, the UCD has included the file Jamo.txt, which says: # This file defines the Jamo Short Name property. It turns out that this property is not formally defined. For example, it is not listed in UCD.html along with the other properties, and it is not listed in PropertyAliases.txt (in any version of the UCD). As for the quality of the data: there has been one change in this file (in 2.1.9); it has not changed ever since. Also, I verified that the value listed in Jamo.txt matches the ISO comment in UnicodeData.txt (for choseong and jongseong) and matches the character name (for jungseong). The proposal is to include formally this property, with the long name "Jamo_Short_Name" and the short name alias "jsn". This is an enumerated property: jsn ; jsn ; A jsn ; AE jsn ; B jsn ; BB jsn ; BS jsn ; C jsn ; D jsn ; DD jsn ; E jsn ; EO jsn ; EU jsn ; G jsn ; GG jsn ; GS jsn ; H jsn ; I jsn ; J jsn ; JJ jsn ; K jsn ; L jsn ; LB jsn ; LG jsn ; LH jsn ; LM jsn ; LP jsn ; LS jsn ; LT jsn ; M jsn ; N jsn ; NG jsn ; NH jsn ; NJ jsn ; O jsn ; OE jsn ; P jsn ; R jsn ; S jsn ; SS jsn ; T jsn ; U jsn ; WA jsn ; WAE jsn ; WE jsn ; WEO jsn ; WI jsn ; YA jsn ; YAE jsn ; YE jsn ; YEO jsn ; YI jsn ; YO jsn ; YU Note the first line: "" is a legal value (for U+110B HANGUL CHOSEONG IEUNG) ---- .
