L2/17-163 Title: Indic Positional Category of Javanese Cakra Author: Roozbeh Pournader (Google) Date: May 9, 2017 In L2/17-038, Norbert Lindenberg proposed that the Indic Positional Category of U+A9BF be changed from Right to Bottom. I was given an action item by the UTC to do that (Action Item 150-A1). I agree that the category of Right is incorrect for this character, but disagree that Bottom is the correct category. From the examples provided, and comparison with the following characters' existing Indic positional categories, it follows that the best positional category for the Javanese Cakra should be Bottom_And_Left. (Specially since the character sometimes even loses it bottom part, and becomes a left-only sign.) Here are the existing similar characters that occupy two connecting parts and act somehow visually similar to the Javanese Cakra: 0B57 ; Top_And_Right # Mc ORIYA AU LENGTH MARK 1C29 ; Top_And_Left # Mc LEPCHA VOWEL SIGN OO A9C0 ; Bottom_And_Right # Mc JAVANESE PANGKON
