Ken Lunde

Ken Lunde has served as Chair of the UTC’s CJK & Unihan Working Group since 2020, as Registrar of Unicode’s Ideographic Variation Database (IVD) since 2011, and as Convenor of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 2/WG 2’s Ideographic Research Group (IRG) since 2024. Ken earned BA, MA, and PhD degrees in linguistics from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is the author “CJKV Information Processing,” Second Edition (O’Reilly Media, 2009). Ken also has over 30 years of professional experience developing industrial-grade East Asian fonts and the specifications on which they are based.
