Martin Dürst - W3C/MIT

Intended Audience: Software Engineers, Systems Analysts, Site Coordinators, Web Administrators, Designers
Session Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Internationalized Resource Identifiers (IRIs) extend URIs (Web addresses) to include non-ASCII characters and integrate Internationalized Domain Names. Their conversion to URIs is based on UTF-8. This talk will explain general IRI concepts, and show how to set up or upgrade servers to accept them even when locally, other encodings are used. Actual implementations will be presented and discussed.
