Martin J. Dˆºrst

Martin J. Dˆºrst joined the Department of Integrated Information Technology at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo in April 2005 as an Associate Professor. From December 1997 to March 2005, Martin worked on Internationalization in the W3C Team, mostly of the time based at Keio-SFC as a Project Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Media and Governance. From November 2002 to March 2004, he was a Visiting Scientist at MIT/CSAIL.

Prior to joining W3C, he was at the University of Zurich, Department of Computer Science, and has been an active participant within the HTML and CSS Working Groups as an invited expert on internationalization. Over the years, Martin has made numerous contributions to HTML, CSS, XML, IDNs, IRIs, and many other W3C and non-W3C standards. Martin obtained his masters degree from the University of Zurich in computer science, business administration, and Japanese studies. He has a Ph.D from the University of Tokyo in computer science with a thesis on compression and progressive transmission of images.

Shiro HORIE and Yuusaku WADA are senior students at the Department of Integrated Information Technology at Aoyama Gakuin University.
