ISO 15924 is a standard for script codes
(http://www.indigo.ie/egt/standards/iso15924) which does allow coding
script variants. Currently Latin (Lat) has two variants: Gaelic (Lag) and
Frakutr (Laf). People expert in Han characters might look at that standard
and make proposals for Han.
