RE: ALT Codes for Accession Countries

This would be for Translators who work on documents from many countries (EU
plus the other countries mentioned below).

So how can I use Latin-1, 2 and 5 all together (using the ALT Codes would
not be a problem). These Translators are already familiar with the ALT Codes
for Latin-1.

Thanks

Indie

I believe what the submitter asked for may have been a *single* layout that
allows access to *all* of Latin-2 and 5, just like the 'international'
keyboard allows access to all of Latin-1.

In many situations it's *much* more handy to have the ability to quickly
enter any of the characters in a geographical area, instead of trying to
remember which language it's in and where in the world the keyboard for
that particular language places that particular key.

This is especially useful for people who do maintenance work, or who work
in trans-national institutions where they encounter and have to deal with,
or maintain texts in many different languages on a constant basis.

For an individual translator, on the other hand, who normally works in only
one language, switching to a national keyboard may be the answer --
although, that can depend on how easy it is to type ASCII, for example for
non-GUI editing of HTML and similar 'languages'. Some national layouts make
that quite awkward, actually.
