It was mentioned that some authors of
fonts for scripts which are not supported by Unicode
    place such characters
at the positions of characters with appropriate properties
and similar meaning, for example Latin Extended.

    This gives me following idea:
suppose that another plane will be assigned for private use,
but the properties of each position will be the same
as the properties of the character
    at corresponding position in BMP.
And if the rendering system does not know
how to render these private characters,
it will render the characters from BMP.
    This would provide the possibility
to assign the codes for private characters in such way
    that the standard rendering systems
would show such texts as transliteration
    to some similar script.

          P.A.
