Those of you interested in Arabic might find the RefCard at
http://www.arabink.com/arabic/main.html useful, or at least decorative
if you have a color printer. All the letterforms, 9 different
encodings, keyboard mappings, glpyh selection rules, etc. all jammed
into one letter-sized sheet.
Caveat: A rather strange thing happened when I tried to print it 11 by
17 to the office Ricoh color printer. First, the Arabic font I had used
didn't print, even though it printed just fine to a letter-sized page in
black and white. So I changed the font to Arial Unicode MS. But
there's also a greek gamma and a chi in there in Times New Roman, both
of which print as the glyph for \u00F0, small letter eth. Anybody have
any idea why?
(Also looking for help getting the IPA right.)
