Online Data

The technical specifications maintained by the Unicode Consortium require machine-readable data. The Unicode Consortium makes the following information available on http://unicode.org/Public/.

Subdirectory Description

x.y.z
x.y-Update

Directories with versions of the UCD on the top level of Public/, including the latest version and optionally an alpha or beta of the next version. For details, see Versions of the Unicode Standard.
cldr The release files for Unicode Locales (CLDR). For more information, see CLDR Releases/Downloads.
idna Data for use in internationalized domain names. For more information, see UTS #46: Unicode IDNA Compatible Processing.
MAPPINGS Informational mapping tables for transcoding or conversion from existing national and vendor standards to Unicode.
math Data associated with UTR #25: Unicode Support for Mathematics.
PROGRAMS Reference and sample code associated with certain UAXes and UTSes.
security Data associated with UTS #39: Unicode Security Mechanisms.
UCA Data files used for sorting and searching Unicode text. See UTS #10: Unicode Collation Algorithm for more information about the use of this data.
UCD/latest/ Link to the most up-to-date version of the files for the Unicode Character Database (UCD). This data is an integral part of the Unicode Standard. Older versions are archived under their specific version and update numbers on the top level of Public/. Zipped files for fast download are in zipped. See also Versions of the Unicode Standard.
vertical Data associated with UTR #50: Unicode Vertical Text Layout.
zipped/x.y.z Files zipped for fast download, listed under Unicode version number. See also Versions of the Unicode Standard.

The files are available via HTTP and via FTP. Both versions are identical and use consistent names following the initial http://www or ftp://www. It may be more efficient to use the FTP protocol when downloading a large number of files.
