Change History:
- The name of the registrant was originally Adobe Systems Incorporated, and was changed to Adobe in 2022.
- The names of the representatives were originally Ken Lunde and Eric Muller. Eric Muller was removed in 2017. Ken Lunde was replaced by Masataka Hattori in 2022.
- The original URL, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/font/pdfs/5078.Adobe-Japan1-6.pdf, became defunct, and was subsequently changed to https://github.com/adobe-type-tools/Adobe-Japan1/ in the 2017-12-12 version of the IVD. The current URL will be reflected in the next version of the IVD.
The purpose of the Adobe-Japan1 IVD collection, which was registered in the 2007-12-14 version of the IVD, is to register sequences for all of the ideographs that are included in The Adobe-Japan1-7 Character Collection. Virtually all modern Japanese fonts support the Adobe-Japan1-7 Character Collection or an earlier Supplement or subset thereof, and a large subset of those fonts support the Adobe-Japan1 IVD collection.
